Neglected Teeth Don’t Heal; They Gradually Rot

Every day your teeth endure mechanical stress and bacterial exposure. Unlike skin or bone, dental enamel cannot regenerate. At our North York clinic, we provide general dentistry services designed to arrest decay. Local families: Protect your kids from preventable toothaches.

General Dental Services at Our North York Clinic

Exams and Professional Cleanings

Toothbrushes cannot scrape off calcified tartar. Only professional scaling mechanically strips away these hardened bacterial colonies.

Digital X-Rays

Visual exams only show the surface. Digital radiographs reveal hidden interproximal decay and abscesses forming beneath old fillings.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings

Cavities do not stop growing until the decayed tissue is drilled out. We pack the void with a durable composite resin that chemically fuses to your tooth and seals out new bacteria.

Root Canal Treatment

When a deep cavity hits the nerve, your tooth gets infected. We clean out the bacteria from inside the root and seal it to stop the pain and save your tooth.

Extractions

A completely ruined or heavily infected tooth will damage your jaw and neighboring teeth. When a tooth is beyond repair, removing it stops the spread of infection.

Periodontal (Gum) Care

Bleeding gums mean bacteria are eating away at the bone holding your teeth in place. We clean deep under the gumline to stop your teeth from becoming loose.

How Often You Should See a Dentist

Waiting until a tooth hurts to see a dentist is a critical mistake. Plaque hardens into tartar within 24 to 72 hours, and once that happens, you cannot brush it off at home. For most people, a clinical checkup every six months is the exact timeline.
This standard six-month schedule changes in specific cases. Patients with periodontal disease or diabetes require appointments every three to four months. The same applies to those prone to rapid decay.

Now Accepting New Patients of All Ages

Dental Insurance, CDCP and Payment Plans

Dental North York is a registered CDCP provider on Sheppard Ave East. We bill Sun Life directly; you don’t fill out forms or pay upfront for covered care. Just bring your CDCP member card to your appointment. Covered patients earning under $70,000 pay nothing for eligible services, and we check your remaining annual CDCP limit before recommending treatment.

Every six months is the standard rule. However, if you are dealing with active gum problems, diabetes, or get cavities easily, we will likely want to see you every three to four months to keep things under control.

Most workplace and private insurance plans cover routine checkups and cleanings. Because every plan has different rules about how often you can visit, it is a good idea to check your specific coverage details before you come in.

Yes, we accept the CDCP. Just let us know you are covered by the plan when you book your appointment.

Bring them in by their first birthday, or within six months of their very first baby tooth showing up. These early visits are just to make sure their jaws are growing properly and to get them used to sitting in the chair.

No, you do not need them every time. We only take digital X-rays when necessary, like if you have a specific toothache, or a history of hidden cavities.
